Red Cross

"Red Cross w/ Tortilla"
etching plate 7.5"x 7.5", tortilla,
image area10"x 8", paper size 22"x15"

Bored by the limitations of printmaking, I found a stack of rotten tortillas in my refrigerator and took them to the Printmaking Workshop. I inked up a found plate with a cross, which I used as the matrix. The immediate result was totally inspiring. I finished with the stack, and achieved what I had set out to do: make prints that are alive, have texture, change and mutate.

I am glad Bob Blackburn didn't see the blankets.
